Week 8 Growth Mindset

Inspiration Source
Through this class I have definitely found out some strengths and weaknesses in myself. Although I have also found myself growing and maturing already through not only this class, but through life in general! I used to be so defensive about my mistakes and I think through both maturity and time I have found myself okay with my mistakes. I also find it much easier to take responsibility and apologize. One thing I am still needing to work on it doing the bare minimum for not just class, but in my sorority and other aspects of life. I have started to workout and let's just say I am not the athletic type. I have a fairly slender build naturally, but I could not run more than a mile to save my life. I always figured since I never have before, I couldn't now. How wrong I was! I have only been working out for a few weeks and already I can run a few miles without stopping! This is just a testament to how changing your view can seriously change your outcomes!

  1. That's great that you've grown in those aspects Molly! I too have found over the years that admitting to my faults and mistakes make it so much easier to forgive myself and/or stay positive about things. It's better to move on if we can accept things the way they are and just change or improve the way we do and see things.
That's definitely awesome that you've taken up with running! You should try some other sports if you haven't already. You might find something you like and that can be a fun way to workout! Props to you for opening up your mind and body to it; not a lot of people do because it is truly challenging!

  2. Hi, Molly!
It’s great to see your growth. I used to be defensive with my mistakes as well. It’s still a work in progress, but I think the critiques in this class has helped tremendously. I am by far not the athletic type either haha. I’m constantly loosing motivation to work out, but it’s my goal this summer to get better and commit! Keep working hard!

  3. Hey Molly!
I think it is so great that you are opening up and sharing more personal aspects of your life! I think we are all about growth and changing as we get older. We also definitely learn from our past as well as our mistakes. I think that it is also so awesome that you set your mind to go work out and have already made a ton of progress. I am an HES major and I absolutely love sports and working out. I am always usually in the Huff MWF morning and I love to see new people working out if you are ever there fairy early! Great post.

  4. It is great that you are able to identify both strengths and weaknesses in yourself. I do not think that people who believe they do not have any weaknesses are true to themselves. I think that something a lot of students end up doing is just the bare minimum because it is hard to manage everything going on in the different classes that a student is enrolled in.

  5. Hey Molly, I think it's awesome that you've been able to identify your weaknesses and take initiative to improve upon them. It's a skill that lot of people either lack or just don't want to put in the time for. The only way to become a better person is to address your weaknesses, no matter how difficult they may be to face!
